Ukraine updates population data for healthcare system needs
The National Health Service of Ukraine (NHSU) has announced important changes in the planning of medical services. According to official data from the agency, the healthcare system is now basing its calculations and resource allocation on the estimate that approximately 30 million citizens currently reside in Ukraine.
This figure is key to forming hospital budgets and providing patients with necessary medications. The head of the NHSU noted that state institutions must adapt to new realities so that every citizen who has remained in the country can receive timely, high-quality medical care, regardless of their region of residence.
Changes in population size significantly affect the work of family doctors and specialized medical facilities. Focusing on the 30 million figure allows for more efficient allocation of state funds and planning for medical equipment procurement, taking into account the current demographic situation in wartime conditions.
