Ukraine and Norway discuss strengthening air defense
The President of Ukraine held an important conversation with the Prime Minister of Norway, Jonas Gahr Støre. The main topic of the meeting was strengthening the Ukrainian air defense system, in particular protection against ballistic missiles.
During the negotiations, the parties discussed the possibilities of transferring additional air defense assets to Ukraine. This issue is critically important for the security of Ukrainian cities and the protection of energy infrastructure ahead of the winter period.
Norway has been providing significant military and humanitarian aid to Ukraine for a long time. The President thanked the Norwegian government for its support and emphasized that modern sky defense systems are a priority for saving the lives of the civilian population.
The leaders also discussed further cooperation within the framework of international support programs for Ukraine. Both sides confirmed their readiness to continue the dialogue to ensure stability and security in the region.
This cooperation is part of Ukraine's broader efforts to find additional resources to protect its airspace. The results of the negotiations are expected to form the basis for new steps in strengthening the country's defense capabilities.
