Foreign volunteers in Ukraine to receive new legal guarantees
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved an important draft law aimed at protecting the rights of foreign citizens fighting on the side of Ukraine. This document aims to regulate the legal status of volunteers who have joined the Defense Forces to fight against Russian aggression.
According to the new rules, foreigners who have signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine or other military formations will receive official guarantees. This applies not only to the fighters themselves but also to their family members. The draft law provides for the simplification of procedures for obtaining temporary or permanent residence permits for those who risk their lives for the sake of Ukraine's security.
In addition, the document addresses the issue of social protection. Volunteers will be able to receive the relevant documents confirming their status as combatants. This will allow them to enjoy the social benefits provided by Ukrainian legislation for the state's defenders.
The government emphasizes that supporting foreign volunteers is a priority task. Many citizens of other countries have voluntarily come to Ukraine to support democratic values and the independence of our state. The new law will help them feel protected and integrated into Ukrainian society.
It is expected that this draft law will be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for consideration in the near future. Once passed by the deputies and signed by the president, the new regulations will come into force, which will be an important step in strengthening international support for Ukraine.
