Donald Trump's special envoys arrive in Kyiv by train
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced a visit to Kyiv by special envoys of US President-elect Donald Trump. Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, who play an important role in shaping the future foreign policy of the United States, have arrived in the Ukrainian capital.
According to the head of state, the American representatives were unable to use air travel for their visit to Ukraine. Although Ukrainian airports are technically ready to receive aircraft, the Russian side did not provide the necessary security guarantees for flights in the airspace, which remains dangerous due to military operations.
Due to the impossibility of flying, Witkoff and Kushner reached Kyiv by rail. This mode of travel has already become common for many foreign delegations visiting Ukraine during the full-scale war, as Ukrzaliznytsia provides stable and safe connections with other European countries.
The visit of the American special envoys is an important event for Ukrainian-American relations. It is expected that during the meetings, the parties will discuss the issue of further support for Ukraine and ways to end the war, which remains a key priority for the Ukrainian leadership in its dialogue with the new US administration.
