Kyrylo Budanov: Ukraine needs to increase the number of Starlink terminals
The head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, has stated the need to expand access to satellite communications. According to him, the current capabilities of the Starlink system are insufficient to meet the needs of Ukrainian defenders on the front line.
Starlink and Starshield systems play a critically important role in modern combat operations. They allow the Ukrainian military to maintain stable communication, coordinate unit actions, and effectively control unmanned aerial vehicles even in difficult conditions where mobile coverage is unavailable.
According to intelligence, increasing the number of terminals and expanding their coverage area is a strategic task. This will help improve the efficiency of combat missions and ensure reliable communication between different branches of the army in real time.
Currently, the issue of providing the front with additional equipment remains a priority for the defense sector. It is expected that expanding access to these technologies will significantly improve the operational situation on the contact line.
