Russian shelling causes shutdown of major Ukrainian metallurgical enterprises
Due to the massive Russian attacks that took place in August, Ukraine's industrial sector has faced serious challenges. The metallurgical industry, which is one of the key sectors for the country's economy, has been particularly affected.
According to Forbes, the metallurgical giant Zaporizhstal was forced to halt operations due to damage to energy infrastructure and security threats. This enterprise is one of the largest steel producers in Ukraine, so its shutdown significantly impacts overall industrial production figures.
At the same time, another major enterprise, ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, is also forced to respond to the difficult situation. The company has announced a reduction in production volumes to adapt to new conditions and energy supply restrictions.
Experts note that such events create additional pressure on the Ukrainian economy during the war. Currently, the enterprises are trying to assess the scale of the damage and are looking for ways to restore stable operations under conditions of constant danger.
