Mykhailo Fedorov presents priorities of new fund for defense technology development
Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation Mykhailo Fedorov has announced the creation of a new fund that will focus on the development of defense technologies (Defense Tech). This is an important step toward strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities, as modern warfare requires rapid technological solutions and innovation.
The fund's first priority will be supporting the development of unmanned aerial vehicles. Ukraine is already demonstrating significant success in drone production, and the new initiative will help scale these projects. The state aims to make Ukrainian technologies competitive on the global market.
The second area of focus is the development of artificial intelligence systems for military needs. This will allow for the automation of data analysis on the battlefield and increase the precision of equipment. The third priority is defined as supporting startups working on electronic warfare and cyber defense tools.
The fund plans not only to finance developments but also to assist Ukrainian engineers in testing and certifying their products. This will significantly accelerate the process of getting new technologies directly to the front lines.
According to the minister, investments in defense technologies are critically important for Ukraine's future. By supporting innovation, the state will be able to more effectively counter security challenges and ensure an advantage on the battlefield.
