The number of organ transplant surgeries has increased in Ukraine
Over the last six months, the number of organ transplant surgeries in Ukraine has increased significantly. According to official data, medical professionals performed 327 organ transplants and 280 bone marrow transplants. This is almost 30% more than in the same period last year.
Among the surgeries performed, kidney transplants account for the largest share, with 184 procedures completed. Doctors also successfully performed 88 liver transplants and 55 heart transplants. These figures demonstrate the development of the healthcare system and the high level of professionalism among Ukrainian surgeons.
An important part of these statistics is the assistance provided to children. Every tenth transplant surgery was performed on young patients. This gives hope to many families who need complex medical treatment and the saving of their children's lives in the midst of the war.
The increase in the number of such surgeries has been made possible by the development of donation and the improvement of medical technologies in Ukraine. The state continues to support the development of transplantology to make complex medical services more accessible to all citizens who need them.
