Number of transplants in Ukraine has increased: medics performed over 600 operations in six months
Over the last six months, the number of organ transplant operations in Ukraine has increased significantly. According to official data, Ukrainian doctors performed 327 organ transplants and 280 bone marrow transplants. This is almost 30% more than in the same period last year.
Medical statistics testify to the high professionalism of Ukrainian specialists. In particular, over the six months, 184 kidney transplants, 88 liver transplant operations, and 55 heart transplants were performed. These interventions save the lives of patients who were in need of urgent care.
An important part of this work is helping the youngest patients. Every tenth transplant operation was performed on a child. This indicates the development of pediatric surgery and the ability to provide highly specialized care within the country.
The increase in transplant indicators is a positive signal for Ukraine's healthcare system. Despite difficult conditions, medical institutions continue to develop, implement new treatment methods, and save the lives of thousands of Ukrainians.
