How to use frozen Russian assets to help Ukraine: expert proposals
The issue of Ukraine's recovery and finding financial resources remains one of the top items on the agenda. As the full-scale war continues, international experts are seeking new ways to attract funds to support the Ukrainian economy and rebuild destroyed infrastructure.
Recently, Judith Arnal, an analyst at the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS), proposed a new financial and legal alternative. Instead of the full confiscation of Russian assets currently blocked in European banks, the expert is considering other mechanisms for their use.
This initiative aims to find a method that would be legally secure and acceptable to all European Union countries. Using the profits from frozen Russian assets could become an important source of funding that would not violate international law or create risks for Europe's financial stability.
Currently, Judith Arnal's proposal is being actively discussed among financial experts and politicians. Finding such solutions is extremely important for Ukraine, as it will allow for the attraction of additional resources to overcome the consequences of Russian aggression.
The Ukrainian government continues to cooperate with international partners to turn these ideas into real mechanisms for financial assistance. It is expected that new decisions will be adopted in the near future that will help direct the aggressor's funds toward the reconstruction of our state.
