Why the change to the judicial salary calculation system is being postponed until 2026
The Ministry of Finance of Ukraine has explained the reasons why the introduction of a new procedure for calculating salaries for judges will not take place in 2026. This issue became a subject of discussion due to the need for significant changes to the state budget.
According to the agency's official data, implementing the new judicial remuneration system would require an additional 2.7 billion hryvnias for just one year. Currently, the state budget is unable to provide such funding due to the difficult economic situation in the country.
The introduction of new calculation standards was intended to streamline the system of judicial compensation. However, given the limited financial resources, the government is forced to postpone these changes indefinitely. The priority of budgetary policy remains the financing of the defense sector and social programs.
For now, the issue of revising judicial salaries remains open. It is expected that this topic will be revisited after the stabilization of the economic situation in Ukraine, when additional opportunities for reforming the remuneration system in the judiciary arise.
