The issue of women's mobilization in Ukraine: official position and discussions

Recently, discussions have emerged in the media regarding the potential mobilization of women in Ukraine. These discussions were sparked by statements from Keith Kellogg, who advocated for the involvement of women in military service. However, these ideas did not find support even within his own family; specifically, his daughter, Megan Mobbs, publicly spoke out against such an initiative.

Megan Mobbs emphasized that the participation of women in combat operations should be based exclusively on a voluntary basis. In her opinion, the forced mobilization of women does not align with Ukraine's national interests and is not practical under current conditions. Her position reflects a broader discussion about the role of women in ensuring the state's defense capability.

It is worth noting that in Ukraine, the issue of women's mobilization remains clearly regulated. To date, official authorities have repeatedly emphasized that the mobilization of women is not being conducted and is not planned. Women can join the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine only of their own volition by signing a military service contract.

Currently, Ukrainian legislation provides only for voluntary military registration for women of certain specialties. No changes that would mandate compulsory military service for women are being considered at the state level. Thus, statements by foreign politicians on this matter do not influence Ukraine's internal policy.
