Passenger traffic at Ukraine's western border has reached last year's peak levels
The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine has reported a significant increase in the number of people crossing the country's western border. According to the agency, 778,000 people passed through border crossing points between August 1 and August 7.
This figure is 1.7% higher than the data from the previous week. Experts note that this number of travelers corresponds to the peak levels recorded at the border during the same period last year.
The increase in passenger traffic is linked to the active vacation season and summer travel by citizens. Border guards are working in an enhanced mode to ensure rapid document processing and the safety of everyone crossing the border.
Despite the high load on crossing points, the situation remains under control. Citizens planning trips abroad are advised to check the status of queues in advance on the official resources of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
It is expected that the high intensity of traffic in the western direction will continue until the end of the summer season. Authorities urge travelers to follow border crossing rules and to have all necessary documents with them.
