Number of transplants increases in Ukraine: medics have performed over 600 operations in six months
Over the last six months, Ukrainian medicine has achieved significant success in the field of transplantology. According to official data, doctors have performed 327 organ transplant operations and 280 bone marrow transplants. This is 30% more than in the same period last year, which indicates the development of the healthcare system in Ukraine.
Among the organ transplant operations performed, kidney transplants account for the largest share, with 184 procedures. Medics also successfully performed 88 liver transplants and 55 heart transplant operations. These complex surgical interventions save the lives of patients who are in need of urgent care.
Doctors are paying special attention to the youngest patients. Statistics show that one in ten transplants in Ukraine was performed on a child. This underscores the importance of developing pediatric surgery and the availability of specialists capable of performing operations of the highest level of complexity.
An increase in the number of such operations has been made possible by the improvement of medical infrastructure and the professionalism of Ukrainian doctors. Despite difficult conditions, the medical system continues to develop, providing citizens with access to modern treatment within the country.
