Drohobych oil refinery complex "Galychyna" declared bankrupt
The Commercial Court of Lviv Oblast has officially declared the public joint-stock company "Oil Refinery Complex 'Galychyna'" bankrupt. This decision was made following a lengthy review of the case regarding the financial insolvency of the enterprise, which for a long time was one of the key facilities in Ukraine's oil refining industry.
The Drohobych oil refinery has a long history of operation; however, in recent years, the enterprise has faced serious economic difficulties. The total amount of the company's debts to creditors proved to be too large, making it impossible to continue fulfilling financial obligations and maintaining production activities.
Following the declaration of bankruptcy, the court initiated liquidation proceedings. This means that a specially appointed liquidator will be responsible for selling the company's assets to partially repay debts to creditors. The liquidation process will be overseen by judicial authorities in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine.
At present, the future of the production site remains uncertain. Experts note that the closure of such a large enterprise affects the economic situation in the region and the oil products market as a whole. Further details regarding the sale of assets and debt settlement will be announced after the liquidation commission completes its work.
