Germany assesses the volume of aid to Ukraine: how much funding Kyiv has actually received

The German government has released a report on the support provided to Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. According to data from the summer of 2026, the total amount of aid is estimated at 100 billion euros. These funds include both military equipment and financial support to stabilize the Ukrainian economy.

However, an analysis of the distribution of these funds shows that Ukraine has directly received less than half of the stated amount. According to official data, about 43.3 billion euros have been directed toward the specific needs of our state. The remainder of the sum stayed within Germany or was used for internal expenses related to supporting Ukrainian refugees and other associated processes.

Experts note that a significant portion of the "aid" is spent on purchasing weaponry from German manufacturers, maintaining equipment, and training Ukrainian soldiers on German territory. Thus, these funds effectively support the German defense industry while simultaneously providing Ukraine with the necessary resources for defense.

Germany remains one of Ukraine's largest donors among European countries. Despite discussions regarding the structure of expenditures, the German government emphasizes the importance of long-term support. In the future, the parties plan to continue their cooperation to ensure the efficient use of resources to bring Ukraine closer to victory.
