Czech Republic begins denying temporary protection to Ukrainian men
The Czech government has introduced new rules for citizens of Ukraine who are applying for an extension of temporary protection. Now, men of conscription age must confirm that they have fulfilled their military obligations in order to receive permission to continue staying in the country.
According to media reports, the first cases of denials have already been recorded. Czech migration authorities are requiring applicants to provide relevant documents certifying their status. If a man cannot provide confirmation, his application for an extension of protection is not considered.
These changes are part of a pan-European policy regarding the regulation of refugee status. The Czech authorities emphasize that document verification is a mandatory procedure for all individuals claiming social and legal support within the framework of European programs.
For now, Ukrainians planning to remain in the Czech Republic are advised to closely monitor updates in migration legislation. It is important to prepare the necessary certificates in a timely manner and contact official institutions for clarification to avoid problems with legal residency in the country.
