Germany working to strengthen Ukrainian air defense
Germany continues active negotiations with international partners regarding the strengthening of the Ukrainian air defense system. The main goal of these efforts is to find additional interceptor missiles for the Patriot surface-to-air missile systems that are already defending the Ukrainian sky.
German government representative Johann Wadephul emphasized that discussions with allies are moving in a positive direction. According to him, there are real grounds to expect successful results that will help Ukraine better defend itself against aerial attacks.
Patriot systems play a critically important role in the security of Ukrainian cities, as they are capable of shooting down complex targets, including ballistic missiles. That is why ensuring these systems have ammunition remains one of the top priorities for Ukraine's defense partners.
Despite the complexity of logistical and political processes, the international coalition continues to seek opportunities to transfer the necessary weaponry. It is expected that concrete decisions will be made in the near future that will allow for the strengthening of the protection of Ukraine's critical infrastructure and civilian population.
