Ukraine receives over 50 million dollars from Japan to support healthcare
Ukraine has secured 51.5 million dollars in financial assistance from the government of Japan. These funds will be directed toward the development and support of our country's healthcare system under martial law.
The funding was provided as part of a special World Bank project titled THRIVE. This initiative aims to strengthen medical infrastructure and ensure the stable operation of hospitals that provide care to thousands of patients every day, including those affected by hostilities.
According to government representatives, the funds received have already reached the state budget. They will be used for the restoration of medical facilities, the purchase of necessary equipment, and ensuring citizens' access to quality medical services.
Cooperation with the World Bank and the government of Japan remains an important element of support for the Ukrainian economy. Such assistance allows the state to continue funding social and medical programs despite the complex challenges caused by the full-scale war.
