EU allocates 6.1 billion euros to strengthen Ukrainian air defense
The European Commission has officially approved the allocation of 6.1 billion euros in financial aid to Ukraine. These funds will be directed toward strengthening the country's defense capabilities, specifically for the development of air defense, as well as the procurement of drones and missiles to protect the Ukrainian sky.
Funding is being provided under the Ukraine Support Loan program. According to European Union representative Andrius Kubilius, this money will allow Ukraine to independently purchase necessary weaponry, including modern PAC-3 type missiles, which are critically important for intercepting enemy targets.
This step is part of a broader strategy of support for Ukraine by the European Union. The resources received will help the Ukrainian military more effectively protect civilian infrastructure and cities from constant aerial attacks, which remains the top priority for the state's security.
Thanks to this financial assistance, Ukraine will be able to not only replenish its ammunition stocks but also support its own production of defense technologies. This decision demonstrates the stable support of European partners in Ukraine's fight for its independence and the security of the entire region.
