Sport as support: how the "Carpathian Legion" project helps children from frontline regions
The Rating sociological group presented the results of a study on the impact of sports on the mental health of adolescents. The presentation took place within the framework of the "Carpathian Legion" project, which is aimed at supporting children living in frontline zones of Ukraine.
During the event, experts discussed how physical activity helps young people overcome stress and anxiety caused by the war. According to specialists, regular sports activities not only strengthen health but also contribute to the psychological resilience of teenagers in difficult conditions.
The "Carpathian Legion" project provides children with the opportunity to take a break from daily challenges and gain new skills in a safe environment. The organizers emphasize that such initiatives are critically important for the socialization and emotional recovery of young people who have been most affected by hostilities.
The Rating study confirms that sport is becoming an effective tool for improving mood and increasing self-confidence. Project participants have the opportunity not only to engage in physical exercises but also to communicate with peers, which helps them feel the support of a community.
Concluding the presentation, project representatives expressed hope that similar initiatives would be scaled up. Ensuring access to sports programs for children from frontline territories remains one of the priority tasks for improving their quality of life and mental well-being.
