Abnormal price hinders asset management of "Morshynska"
In March 2023, a new manager was selected for two large Ukrainian companies — PJSC "Morshyn Mineral Water Plant Oscar" and PJSC "IDS" (IDS Ukraine). This decision was part of the process of transferring assets under state control to ensure the stable operation of the enterprises during martial law.
However, it recently became known that the winner of the tender to manage these assets was refused the conclusion of a contract. The reason for this decision was the abnormally high price offered by the applicant. The specialists who conducted the selection deemed this proposal economically unjustified and inconsistent with market realities.
The situation surrounding "Morshynska" is important for the Ukrainian beverage market, as the company is one of the largest producers of mineral water in the country. The state is trying to find an effective way to manage such assets in order to preserve jobs and ensure tax revenues to the budget even in the difficult conditions of war.
Currently, the process of finding a new manager for the IDS Ukraine group companies continues. The responsible authorities must conduct a re-analysis of the proposals to select a partner who can offer transparent and favorable terms for the state without jeopardizing the stability of production.
This decision demonstrates the state's intention to control the management processes of strategic enterprises and prevent abuses during tenders. New information regarding the next steps in this matter is expected in the near future.
