Poland has allowed Ukraine to resume search operations on its territory
The Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of Poland has officially announced that it has granted permission to Ukraine to conduct search operations. This decision concerns the search for the remains of victims of military conflicts and repressions who may be buried on Polish territory. This step is an important stage in establishing a dialogue between the two countries regarding historical memory.
The request to conduct such work was submitted by the Ukrainian side. Polish specialists emphasized that the permit was issued after a thorough review of all legal and technical aspects. The work will be carried out under the supervision of the relevant Polish institutions responsible for the preservation of historical sites and monuments.
The search operations aim not only to locate burial sites but also to conduct their proper identification. This will allow the families of the deceased to receive information about the fate of their loved ones who went missing during the complex historical events of the last century. Such cooperation demonstrates the readiness of both states to constructively resolve sensitive issues.
It is expected that the first stages of the work will begin in the near future. Representatives of both countries note that this process will contribute to strengthening good-neighborly relations and mutual respect. In the future, the parties plan to continue discussing other issues related to their shared history and honoring the memory of war victims.
