Head of the Shipping Administration suspended from office following high-profile scandal
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has made the decision to suspend the head of the State Service for Maritime and Inland Waterway Transport and Shipping. This decision comes as a result of public accusations made by Member of Parliament Anna Skorokhod.
The MP claimed that the official allegedly used budget funds for private trips abroad. According to her, these visits were related to the official's personal affairs rather than the performance of state duties. This information has caused significant resonance in society and political circles.
Currently, official bodies have launched an investigation into the disclosed facts. The government emphasizes that any misuse of state funds during martial law is unacceptable. Until the internal investigation is completed, the head of the agency will not perform their professional duties.
This event is part of a broader campaign to strengthen oversight of the activities of civil servants. Citizens and anti-corruption organizations are awaiting the results of the investigation, which are expected to be released in the near future. Further steps taken by the authorities regarding this case will be announced additionally.
