EU to provide financial support to Ukraine until the end of 2026
The European Union has officially approved a long-term financial assistance plan for Ukraine. This decision guarantees a stable inflow of funds into the state budget, which will be directed toward supporting the economy and strengthening the country's defense capabilities over the next two years.
Funding will be provided under the special Ukraine Facility instrument. This money will help the Ukrainian government pay salaries to public sector employees and pensions on time, as well as finance social programs, despite the difficult conditions of martial law and constant expenditures on the army.
In addition to direct budget support, a portion of the funds will be directed toward the restoration of critical infrastructure damaged by Russian shelling. This will allow for the stable operation of the energy system and other vital sectors, which is essential for citizens during the winter period.
European partners emphasize that the provision of these resources is a testament to the EU's solidarity with Ukraine. The payment mechanism involves the implementation of specific reforms that will help Ukraine integrate more quickly into the European space and strengthen state institutions.
Overall, this financial aid is an important step for Ukraine's economic stability. Thanks to the support of international partners, the country will be able to plan its activities with greater confidence and continue the fight for independence until the end of 2026.
