The Verkhovna Rada is considering new candidates for the positions of Minister of Defense and Minister of Foreign Affairs
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has officially submitted documents to the Verkhovna Rada regarding the appointment of new heads of the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. These personnel changes are part of a large-scale renewal of the government team that has been ongoing in the country over the last few days.
Andrii Sybiha, who previously served as Deputy Head of the Office of the President, has been proposed for the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs. At the same time, Rustem Umerov, who already has experience working in the government and has dealt with issues of state property privatization, is being considered for the position of Minister of Defense.
Members of Parliament are expected to discuss these candidates during the upcoming session. After public debate and a vote in the session hall, it will become clear whether these politicians will receive the support of the majority of people's deputies to carry out their new duties.
The change of heads of key ministries is taking place at a difficult time for Ukraine. The main tasks for the new ministers remain providing the army with necessary weapons, strengthening international support, and promoting Ukraine's interests on the world stage.
It is expected that the vote will take place in the near future. Citizens and international partners are closely monitoring these appointments, as the country's defense capability and the success of Ukraine's diplomatic efforts depend on the work of the Ministries of Defense and Foreign Affairs.
