Number of transplants increases in Ukraine: medics summarize the half-year results
Over the last six months, the number of organ transplant surgeries in Ukraine has increased significantly. According to official data, Ukrainian doctors performed 327 organ transplants and 280 bone marrow transplants. This is almost 30% more than in the same period last year.
Medical statistics testify to the high professionalism of Ukrainian specialists. In particular, during this time, 184 kidney transplants, 88 liver transplant surgeries, and 55 heart transplants were performed. Each of these operations gives patients a chance at a full life.
Doctors pay special attention to the youngest patients. According to the report, one in ten transplants was performed on a child. This indicates the development of pediatric surgery and the accessibility of high-tech medical care in Ukraine, even in difficult times.
The increase in the number of such operations has become possible due to the development of the transplant system in the country and an increase in the level of trust in donation. The medical community continues to work to save as many Ukrainian lives as possible.
