Volodymyr Zelenskyy has defined key priorities for Ukraine's winter preparations
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting dedicated to the country's preparations for the winter period. The Head of State emphasized that energy security and the protection of infrastructure are the main tasks for the government and local authorities for the coming months.
The first priority is strengthening the energy system. Authorities are working on restoring damaged facilities and installing additional protection for power plants. This is necessary to ensure a stable supply of electricity and heat for the population, even in the event of new attacks.
The second important direction is the decentralization of energy generation. Ukraine is actively installing cogeneration units and solar panels in communities. Such a system makes energy supply more resilient, as small energy sources are harder to disable simultaneously.
The third priority is ensuring social payments and supporting vulnerable segments of the population. The government is preparing assistance programs so that citizens can pay for utility services during the winter. Work is also ongoing with international partners to obtain the necessary equipment and financial support.
In conclusion, the President emphasized that preparing for winter requires coordinated work at all levels of government. The main goal is to ensure that Ukrainians have access to basic services, despite the difficult conditions of wartime.
