Full-scale war in Ukraine: key events and consequences
On February 24, 2022, the Russian Federation launched a full-scale invasion of Ukrainian territory. This event marked the beginning of the largest armed conflict in Europe since the Second World War, which fundamentally changed the lives of millions of Ukrainians and influenced global politics.
At the initial stage, the Russian leadership planned a rapid capture of the Ukrainian capital. However, thanks to the decisive resistance of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the consolidation of all of Ukrainian society, the enemy's plans for a quick occupation of Kyiv failed. After this, Russian troops changed their strategy and focused their efforts on attempts to capture the eastern and southern regions of our country.
For a long time, hostilities have continued along the front line. Ukraine is actively defending its territorial integrity, receiving support from international partners in the form of military, financial, and humanitarian aid. At the same time, Ukrainian cities and infrastructure are regularly subjected to shelling, which creates serious challenges for the safety of the civilian population.
Today, Ukraine continues to fight for its independence and future. The situation on the front remains tense, and the state's diplomatic efforts are aimed at ending the aggression and restoring peace on the terms of international law. Despite all the difficulties, Ukrainians demonstrate resilience and faith in victory.
