Walnut prices in Ukraine have risen significantly
In Ukraine, there has been a significant increase in retail prices for walnuts. In some regions of the country, the cost of high-quality shelled walnuts has doubled, reaching the 400 hryvnia per kilogram mark.
Just recently, consumers could purchase a quality product for around 200 hryvnias per kilogram. Such a sharp price hike has come as a surprise to many buyers who were accustomed to more stable prices for this commodity in previous periods.
Economic experts note that price fluctuations for agricultural products often depend on harvest volumes, logistics costs, and domestic market demand. Currently, the situation with walnuts reflects general trends in the Ukrainian food market.
Although walnuts are not a basic necessity, they remain an important product in the diet of many Ukrainians. Changes in prices directly affect family budgets, especially in the context of general inflation.
For now, consumers should take these changes into account when planning their purchases. It remains an open question whether prices will stabilize in the near future or if the trend of rising walnut costs will continue over the coming months.
