Court sides with Ukrainian woman in case against bank: important ruling on fraud
An important judicial event regarding the protection of banking consumers' rights has taken place in Ukraine. A court ruled in favor of a woman whose money was stolen by scammers. This case attracted the attention of many citizens, as the issue of financial security and bank responsibility is currently very relevant for society.
The conflict arose between a large state-owned bank and its client. After perpetrators illegally withdrew funds from her account, the bank filed a lawsuit against the woman, attempting to recover the debt from her. However, the judge examined all the circumstances of the case in detail and established that the client was not at fault for the data leak, and the bank had failed to provide adequate protection.
As a result, the court not only completely wrote off the woman's debt but also ordered the bank to pay her significant monetary compensation. This decision sets an important precedent for Ukrainian justice. It shows that financial institutions must be held accountable for account security and cannot simply shift the blame onto victims of cybercrime.

The MFA explained that the composition of participants for such events is often determined jointly with international partners, particularly the Polish government, which plays a key role in supporting the reconstruction of our state.
