Minimum wage in Ukraine: should we expect changes from August 1

Recently, many questions have appeared in the media regarding a possible increase in the minimum wage in Ukraine starting August 1. This issue is important for millions of citizens, as the amounts of social payments, taxes, and budget accruals depend on this indicator.

According to official data from the government and the 2024 state budget, no further increase in the minimum wage is planned for August 1. The last stage of growth took place on April 1, when the minimum wage increased to 8,000 hryvnias. It will remain at this level until the end of the current year.

It is important to note that the government does not currently plan to review these figures in the coming months. The main focus of the state budget is on financing the defense sector and maintaining economic stability under martial law. Therefore, all social standards remain at the previously approved level.

It is also worth remembering that the size of the minimum wage affects the amount of the Unified Social Contribution (USC) for individual entrepreneurs. Since the payment amount is not changing, the tax burden for businesses remains stable, which is an important factor for supporting entrepreneurial activity in Ukraine.

In summary, citizens should not expect financial changes in August. All social payments and tax rates continue to be calculated according to the current standards that were established this spring. The government continues to monitor the economic situation and will inform the public about any future changes through official channels.
