France may transfer AASM Hammer aircraft bomb production technology to Ukraine
Ukraine and France are discussing the possibility of localizing the production of AASM Hammer aircraft bombs. This is a modern high-precision weapon that is already being actively used by the Ukrainian Air Force to strike Russian positions. Obtaining a production license would allow Ukraine to manufacture these munitions independently and reduce its dependence on supplies from abroad.
Experts are paying particular attention to the version of the bomb called the AASM Hammer XLR. This is the most powerful variant of the weapon, weighing 1,000 kilograms. Thanks to special wings and a rocket booster, such a bomb is capable of hitting targets at a distance of over 140 kilometers. This allows Ukrainian pilots to carry out strikes while remaining at a safe distance from enemy air defense systems.
The AASM Hammer technology is unique because it converts conventional unguided aircraft bombs into "smart" munitions. They are equipped with guidance systems that allow them to hit targets with high precision even in difficult weather conditions. Implementing such production in Ukraine will be an important step toward strengthening the country's defense capabilities.
Currently, the parties are continuing negotiations regarding the technical details and terms of the license transfer. If the agreement is signed, Ukraine will be able to significantly strengthen its aviation arsenal. This will help to more effectively counter Russian aggression and protect Ukrainian territories from constant shelling.
