Ukraine may resume poultry and egg exports to Japan
Ukraine is preparing to resume the export of poultry meat and eggs to the Japanese market. This became possible after the parties discussed the terms for the return of Ukrainian products, which had been banned for the past five years.
Restrictions on the import of Ukrainian goods were introduced in 2021. The reason for this decision was an outbreak of avian influenza, which led Japanese authorities to halt imports to safeguard their domestic production and consumers.
Currently, an official audit by Japan's Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) is required to restore trade relations. Ukrainian specialists are already working to meet all requirements to confirm the high quality and safety of their products.
If the audit is successful, Ukrainian producers will be able to supply their products to Japan once again. This is an important step toward expanding the geography of Ukrainian exports and strengthening economic ties with Asian countries.
