Commander of the 'Khartia' brigade comments on cooperation with the 'Advokat+' initiative
The commander of the 13th Operational Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine 'Khartia', Ihor Obolenskyi, has issued a statement regarding the unit's participation in the 'Advokat+' project. This initiative, supported by the Office of the President, is aimed at providing legal assistance to military personnel and their families.
The decision for the brigade to participate in the program has sparked discussion within Ukrainian society. Some social media users have expressed criticism, fearing potential political influence on the activities of the military unit. Critics point out that the army should remain a completely apolitical structure.
In his response, Ihor Obolenskyi emphasized that the main goal of the cooperation is exclusively the protection of the soldiers' rights. According to him, military personnel often face bureaucratic difficulties when trying to obtain social benefits, combatant status, or medical assistance. The 'Advokat+' project is intended to provide professional legal support to resolve these issues.
The commander stressed that 'Khartia' remains true to its principles and continues to carry out combat missions on the front line. He assured that no cooperation with state initiatives affects the independence and combat readiness of the brigade. The leadership's primary priority remains unchanged — caring for the personnel.
For now, the situation remains under public scrutiny. Representatives of the 'Advokat+' initiative have also stated that their work is purely legal in nature and does not involve any political pressure on military formations.
