The US urges Ukraine to refrain from attacking Russian oil refineries
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the Ukrainian side has received a strong recommendation from the United States of America not to strike Russian oil refineries. This issue became a subject of discussion between representatives of the two countries against the backdrop of the ongoing full-scale war.
According to the head of state, the American side expressed concern regarding the potential consequences of such attacks. Washington emphasizes that such actions could lead to serious problems for Kyiv, particularly in its relations with international partners and in the sphere of energy security.
Ukrainian military forces use drones to attack Russia's oil infrastructure in order to reduce the aggressor's financial capabilities and limit fuel supplies for the enemy army. These measures are part of Ukraine's defense strategy, yet they elicit a mixed reaction among Western allies.
At present, the Ukrainian leadership is analyzing the warnings received. The situation remains tense, as Ukraine attempts to find a balance between conducting an effective defensive war and adhering to strategic agreements with its key partners.
