Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine proposes to strengthen road safety control
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine has developed new proposals to improve road safety. These initiatives will be presented at the upcoming meeting of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC). The main goal of the changes is to reduce the number of accidents and stop systematic traffic violations.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the number of road traffic accidents remains high, which poses a threat to the lives of citizens. Ministry specialists propose reviewing approaches to monitoring drivers and increasing accountability for dangerous behavior on the roads. This applies to both private vehicle drivers and public transport.
One of the key areas of work is the introduction of new technologies for recording violations. The Ministry of Internal Affairs plans to expand the network of automatic speed control cameras to cover not only large cities but also regional highways. The possibility of increasing penalties for drivers who repeatedly ignore the rules within a short period is also being considered.
In addition to technical means, the ministry emphasizes the importance of driving culture. Information campaigns are planned to help drivers better understand the consequences of violations. The authorities hope that a comprehensive approach will help make Ukrainian roads safer for all road users.
It is expected that the decisions made at the NSDC meeting will form the basis for new legislative changes. The government plans to implement these measures in the near future to reduce the accident rate on the country's roads.
