Andrii Sybiha calls for intensified work on the use of frozen Russian assets
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha has stated the need to return to active negotiations regarding the use of frozen Russian assets. According to the diplomat, now is the right time for international partners to move toward concrete decisions on this issue.
The frozen funds of the Russian Federation are viewed as an important resource for supporting the Ukrainian economy and rebuilding the country. Ukraine insists that these funds should be directed toward overcoming the consequences of the military actions caused by Russian aggression.
This issue is complex from both legal and political perspectives, which is why it requires lengthy consultations with allied countries. The Minister emphasized that Kyiv continues to work with international institutions to find a legal mechanism for transferring these assets to Ukraine.
Currently, diplomatic efforts are focused on convincing partners of the fairness of such a step. It is expected that in the near future, discussions on this topic will become more intensive at the level of the European Union and other international organizations.
