The Verkhovna Rada has appointed Yevhen Khmara as the new Minister of Defense of Ukraine
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has officially appointed Yevhen Khmara to the position of Minister of Defense. This decision was made during a parliamentary session after the previous government was dissolved. The candidacy of the new head of the department was supported by a majority of people's deputies.
Prior to his appointment, Yevhen Khmara served as the acting head of the defense department during the transition period. His experience working in government structures was a key factor in the decision to appoint him to this responsible position under wartime conditions.
The appointment of a new minister is an important step toward stabilizing the work of the Ministry of Defense. Deputies emphasize that the new head faces serious tasks related to improving the supply of the army and reforming the country's defense sector.
Currently, Yevhen Khmara has already officially assumed his duties. In the near future, an updated strategy for the ministry's work is expected to be presented, which should help increase the effectiveness of Ukraine's defense policy.
