Nine months of the '112 Ukraine' app: how to call for help with one click
Nine months ago, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine launched the '112 Ukraine' mobile application. This service was created to make the process of calling emergency services faster and more accessible for every citizen, especially under martial law.
The main advantage of the application is the ability to call the police, ambulance, rescuers, or gas service via mobile internet. This is especially important in situations where regular telephone communication may be intermittent or when a person is unable to speak.
The application automatically determines the user's geolocation, which allows emergency services to arrive at the scene faster. This significantly reduces the time required to process a call, as the dispatcher does not need to clarify the address if the user is in a critical condition or cannot clearly explain their location.
Experts emphasize that the '112 Ukraine' service is an important addition to the traditional telephone line. Thanks to the digitalization of services, help becomes closer to people, and the work of emergency services becomes more efficient and coordinated.
