The National Health Service of Ukraine is changing the rules for funding surgical departments
Starting July 1, new requirements for the operation of medical facilities will come into effect in Ukraine. The National Health Service of Ukraine (NHSU) is ceasing funding for surgical departments that perform fewer than 600 major surgeries per year.
These changes affect hospitals across the country, including the surgical department in Domanivka. According to the new rules, medical institutions must meet certain performance indicators to receive state funds for performing surgeries.
Representatives of the NHSU explain that these steps are aimed at improving the quality of medical services. By concentrating patients in larger centers where doctors perform more surgeries, the level of professional skill of surgeons and safety for patients increases.
For residents of small communities, this means the need to reconsider routes for receiving medical care. Patients who require elective surgery will be referred to hospitals that meet the new criteria and have appropriate contracts with the state.
Local authorities and the management of medical institutions are currently working on adapting to the new conditions. The main goal of the reform remains ensuring citizens' access to high-quality and safe surgical care within the framework of the medical reform.
