Mobilization of women in Ukraine: the official position of the authorities
Recently, the issue of potential mobilization of women has been actively discussed in Ukrainian society. Due to the large number of rumors on social media, representatives of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine decided to provide official clarifications regarding this situation.
According to people's deputies, as of today, there is no forced mobilization of women being conducted or planned in Ukraine. Ukrainian legislation provides for a voluntary procedure for women to enter military service. This means that women can sign a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine only of their own free will.
It is worth noting that women who have a medical or pharmaceutical education are required to register for military service. However, as emphasized in parliament, this does not mean automatic mobilization. Registration is a necessary procedure so that the state has up-to-date information on available resources in the medical field.
The authorities urge citizens to trust only official sources of information and not to succumb to provocations that may be spread with the aim of destabilizing the situation in the country. Any changes to mobilization rules must be officially approved by relevant laws, which are always announced publicly.
Therefore, at the moment, the status quo remains unchanged: the mobilization of women in Ukraine is not mandatory. The participation of women in the defense of the state remains exclusively a voluntary matter for each citizen.
