Ukraine is preparing new laws to receive financial aid from the EU
Ukraine continues to fulfill the conditions of the Ukraine Facility program, which provides for the receipt of large-scale financial assistance from the European Union. To this end, the government and the Verkhovna Rada must adopt a number of important legislative acts concerning various areas of public administration.
One of the key areas is civil service reform. The authorities plan to change the rules for holding competitions for government positions to make this process more transparent and professional. This is important to ensure that the best specialists are hired for government bodies and that corruption risks are minimized.
Also, as part of fulfilling its obligations, issues of decentralization and preparation for future elections are being considered. Legislators are working to align Ukrainian legislation with European standards. These changes are intended to ensure the effective operation of local self-government and guarantee the democratic nature of electoral processes after the end of martial law.
Meeting these requirements is a mandatory condition for receiving tranches from the EU, which are directed toward supporting the economy and rebuilding the country. The government emphasizes that these reforms are necessary not only for international partners but also for the development of Ukraine itself and its integration into the European community.
Currently, work on the draft laws is ongoing in the relevant parliamentary committees. It is expected that these documents will be brought to a vote in the Verkhovna Rada in the near future, which will be an important step on the path to Ukraine's European integration.
