Ukraine and the EU agree on a budget and defense financing plan for 2026
The European Commission and the Ukrainian government held joint consultations during which they discussed the financial stability of our country. The parties officially announced that they have already identified the main sources and mechanisms to cover the needs of the state budget and the defense sector in 2026.
This decision is an important step for planning future expenditures. Thanks to the support of European partners, Ukraine will be able to ensure the uninterrupted operation of state institutions, as well as the financing of the army, which remains the main priority during the full-scale war.
In addition to financial issues, representatives of the EU and Ukraine agreed on specific steps for further cooperation. These measures are aimed at strengthening the country's economic resilience and implementing reforms that are necessary for Ukraine's integration into the European Union.
Currently, the details of the financial instruments are being worked out by the relevant ministries. It is expected that such strategic support will help Ukraine more confidently navigate the complex challenges of wartime and ensure social stability for its citizens.
