Ukraine has fulfilled the conditions to begin negotiations on agricultural chapters with the EU
Ukraine has completed all the necessary requirements to open three agricultural chapters within the fifth negotiation cluster with the European Union. This was announced by the acting Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, Taras Vysotskyi.
Preparation for this stage required the Ukrainian side to carry out significant work on adapting legislation and implementing European standards in agriculture. These steps are part of the overall process of integrating Ukraine into the European legal framework.
Despite the successful completion of technical tasks, the question regarding the further progress of negotiations remains open. During the briefing, Taras Vysotskyi was unable to name specific countries or reasons that are currently blocking the official opening of these negotiation clusters.
Opening the agricultural chapters is an important step for Ukrainian producers, as it will allow for the harmonization of trade and cooperation rules with EU member states. It also brings Ukraine closer to full membership in the European Union.
Currently, the Ukrainian government continues to work with European partners to clarify the reasons for the delays and to accelerate the negotiation process. It is expected that the situation will become clearer in the near future following additional consultations in Brussels.
