Volodymyr Zelenskyy: holding elections during the war is impossible

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has made an important statement regarding the future of the electoral process in the country. According to the head of state, holding elections under the conditions of a full-scale war is impossible and dangerous for the country's stability.

The President emphasized that organizing a vote requires not only significant financial resources but also security guarantees for every citizen. Under the conditions of constant shelling and martial law, it is currently impossible to ensure the transparency and security of the electoral process.

Zelenskyy called the idea of holding elections during hostilities a "tsunami for the state." He explained that the main priority for Ukraine right now is defense, the protection of territorial integrity, and support for the army, rather than political competition.

According to the President's position, elections in Ukraine will only be able to take place after the end of martial law and the receipt of reliable security guarantees. This will allow for the vote to be conducted in accordance with democratic standards, in which all Ukrainians, including military personnel and refugees, will be able to participate.

At this time, the Ukrainian authorities continue to focus their efforts on resisting Russian aggression. The issue of elections remains postponed until the moment when the situation in the country becomes safe for conducting democratic procedures.
