The High Anti-Corruption Court has cancelled the electronic ankle monitor requirement for Andriy Yermak
The High Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine (HACC) has made a decision to cancel the obligation for former Head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak to wear an electronic monitoring device. The judges reviewed the defense's motion and concluded that the continued use of the ankle monitor is no longer appropriate.
The primary reason for this decision was the suspect's state of health. According to medical reports presented during the court session, wearing the device was negatively affecting Andriy Yermak's well-being. The court took these circumstances into account when modifying the preventive measure.
Despite the removal of the electronic ankle monitor, other procedural obligations for the former official remain in effect. This means he must continue to comply with court requirements, including appearing when summoned by investigators and prosecutors, as well as notifying authorities of any changes in his place of residence or employment.
The case against Andriy Yermak continues to be handled within the legal framework. The court's decision to cancel electronic monitoring is part of the standard procedure for reviewing preventive measures, based on current medical and legal data. At present, the parties are awaiting the next stages of the judicial process.
