Ukraine proposes that the EU increase bioethanol export quotas
Ukraine has officially appealed to the European Union with a proposal to revise the terms of biofuel trade. The country's government proposes increasing the existing quota for duty-free exports of Ukrainian bioethanol, which currently stands at 125,000 tons per year.
This initiative is linked to the consumption volumes of bioethanol in imported gasoline. Increasing the quotas will allow Ukrainian producers to supply more eco-friendly fuel to the European market without additional customs duties. This is an important step for supporting the domestic agro-industrial sector and energy cooperation with the EU.
Bioethanol is an important component of modern fuel, as it helps to reduce the emission of harmful substances into the atmosphere. Ukraine has significant potential for the production of this product thanks to its developed agriculture, which allows for the processing of grain and sugar crops into energy resources.
Currently, the proposal is under discussion with European partners. In the event of a positive decision, it will contribute to strengthening economic ties between Ukraine and the European Union, and will also help Ukrainian companies expand the geography of their sales at the international level.
