Russia launched strikes on infrastructure facilities in western Ukraine
This afternoon, Russian forces carried out a series of missile attacks on the western regions of Ukraine. The Rivne and Zhytomyr regions, as well as the city of Lutsk, were hit, with local residents reporting loud explosions.
Around 3:00 p.m., explosions were heard in the city of Sarny, located in the north of the Rivne region. According to preliminary information, the enemy targeted energy and fuel infrastructure facilities, including gas stations. This is the first time that Russian forces have deliberately attacked gas stations in this region.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy officially condemned these actions, emphasizing the danger of strikes on civilian objects. Rescuers and emergency services are currently working at the impact sites, extinguishing fires and assessing the scale of the destruction.
Local authorities are urging residents of the regions not to ignore air raid sirens and to remain in shelters until the danger has passed. Information regarding casualties and details of the damage are being clarified by the relevant agencies.
