Zelenskyy: Ukraine could stop strikes on Russian oil refineries if energy security is ensured

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine is prepared to stop attacks on Russian oil refineries. This is possible only on the condition that Russia stops striking Ukrainian energy infrastructure.

The head of state emphasized that such actions by Ukraine are a forced response to constant shelling. According to the president, in the last week alone, Russian forces have launched approximately 1,450 guided aerial bombs, 75 missiles, and over 1,640 strike drones at Ukrainian territory.

A large number of attacks are aimed specifically at civilian objects and critical infrastructure, which creates serious challenges for Ukraine's energy system. Despite the intense shelling, Ukrainian air defense forces continue to work on protecting cities and strategic facilities.

Currently, the situation remains tense as shelling from the Russian Federation continues daily. The issue of energy sector security remains one of the top priorities for the Ukrainian leadership for the near future.
